Yuliya A. Zharova received the Ph.D. degree in 2007 from the Ioffe Institute (St.-Petersburg, Russia) for the study toward the properties of photonic crystals and technology of their fabrication. Currently, Dr. Zharova is a senior researcher at the Ioffe Institute.
Her scientific interests are in the field of the Si-based microphotonics, etching of silicon, the structures with macro-, micro- and mesoporous silicon obtained by photoelectronchemical, electrochemical and metal-assisted etching, nanoparticles of the metal on the silicon surface and their plasmonic properties, fabrication of the 3D Si-based structures using a metal catalyzer.
